Oh Holidays!

Really, is Christmas only 6 days away!!! My My!
I started writing about how stressed I am lately but have decided to stay positive.
So even with the normal stresses of life compiled with the Holidays I managed to string my husband and daughter along with me to Kiddie Kandids for pictures.

I have to brag for a minute! Have you ever seen such a beautiful little girl???

MERRY CHRISTMAS to all of our friends and family! We love you so much!

Mommy and Daddy get away

Robert and I were able to take a trip on the University of Utah Charter plane with the team and staff to San Diego.
It was a great experience. We flew out of the Million Air club and felt like well, Millionaires! haha.
Such a better experience than the regular ole airport.
We stayed with the team at the Marriott. They took us in buses to the hotel and to the game. It was pretty cool being escorted by police. :)

The game day was wet. It rained all day long! I didn't know it could rain that much in San Diego. I thought I was in Seattle! Robert and had a blast. The game was nail biting and intense. It was a whirlwind of a trip!

Dalyla's phrases and words

"Where is she"? for Where is it.
"Shit"...hmmm wonder where she got that?
"binket" for Blanket
"baby" for baby
She says pretty much anything you say, but sometimes it is hard to understand.
"football" for any sport on TV
and the favorite...."NO!" for everything, although she fully understands the meaning.
She is trying to say Grandma too, but it isn't too easy for her.
"Papa" for grandpa.
"ewww"
"Ouchie"
and she now kisses her owies. She also wants me to kiss her owies when she falls.
She gives Avalin, Mandi's daughter hugs. Avalin is so sweet and loving, and gives Dalyla kisses.

Halloween

Halloween! Halloween was very fun this year with Dalyla. At 17 months old she had a good time. We had the annual pumpkin carving evening. She tried to participate but thought the pumpkin guts were "eewww".

Dalyla was a cheetah this year. She looked like a kitty cat more though. She loved to wear her little hat. She normally hates things on her head. But when I would say, "let's put on your kitty hat" she would tilt her head forward like she was so excited.
She got to go trick or treating at Grammy Becki's work and my work. She had 3 suckers in 20 minutes. Yes, she loves sugar now!

We went to Zachary's school costume parade early in the morning to start the day off. She loved looking at all of the costumes. She especially liked the witch hats. Zachary was a ninja..( i think). :)

Robert and I went out on Friday night to a party and hung out with Todd since he was in town this year. So Robert of course couldn't be anything modest. He was a Sexy Nun and I was Pocahontas. We had a good time.

Disneyland

What a trip!

Updates on Dalyla

Well since I am a slacker mom and haven't made Dalyla a baby book I figure I better at least keep up on the blog.
Dalyla is now 16 months old! She gets around pretty well. She flies up and down the stairs with no problems. She tries to repeat pretty much everything you say. She can say please, but not thanks yet. She says one words but she can put together one phrase, " up pwease" when she wants you to hold her or get up on something. She is pretty darn smart. She loves to read books. She is just barely getting into tv. She can say, "foot ball". Last night she got into watching baseball of all things. I think that she is going to be into sports. This morning we watched cartoons together. She loves to watch Mickey Mouse now because she recognizes the characters. We were watching Chuggington and Manney and she liked those too.

She tries to push the chair up to the counter to help me do dishes now. She gets frustrated when she can't do something. She will start to whine and cry. I just laugh at her most of the time.

It is almost Halloween. I decorated a bit. Dalyla is not quite sure of the cackling witch on my front door. She loves the little scare crows though.

What mischevious things have I caught her doing lately? Hmm..well she likes to eat crayons. I walked into her bedroom because she was being awfully quiet to find purple crayon spewing out of her mouth and down her shirt. LOL!
The other morning I took her diaper off to get in the shower and she touched her poo and smeared it all over the cabinets.
She likes to dump water out of the bathtub now too.

She, in general is a pretty good kid.

What sweet things does she do? She blows kisses to me bye-bye now. She says "buh-bye" and waves. It's so stinking cute. She will give kisses and hugs to just about every stuffed animal. She loves her daddy, thats for sure.

She is addicted to ice cubes. Loves to chew them. That is a Jana and Robert thing. She is obsessed with toothbrushes. Although, none of her own. I guess that isn't such a bad thing.

Life is so precious

Today for some reason is an emotional day. I'm sure it has a lot to do with hormones but mostly because as I look at the blog for my friend's grand daughter Cami who was diagnosed with Leukemia at age 5, it reminds me at how much I enjoy and love my daughter and how much I appreciate her in my life.

Yesterday she had one of her whiney days and it frustrated me. But at the end of the night I looked at her and forgot all about my frustrations because she is perfect. She is beautiful, smart and so amazing. I couldn't ask for anything more. I have to simply remind myself of how good life is.

Cami's mom Chelsea is so amazing. I ask myself if I could be that amazing if something like cancer happened to Dalyla. Man I hope so. Playing tea parties with her stuffed Froggy and dressing up and dancing in the living room. It is definitely the little things that make like worth living.

As for what is new in our life. Hmmm, not a whole lot. Robert and I workout most days, ha-ha. We take along Dalyla. Last Monday we went to the high school track to run and let her out of the stroller after, omg, she ran and ran. I bet she could keep up with us the next time. :)

Last Saturday we went on a hike up to Catherine's Pass with Aunt Fishy. :) That was the first time I packed Dalyla all the way by myself. It was really good. She had a good time. On the way down she fell asleep in the pack. ha-ha! Pretty cute.

Robert is a good dad. He was Mr. Mom while I went out of town for 4 days. He does quite well. I am amazed at what a good dad he is. So calm. Much more calm than I am. It is crazy to see how much different it is with Dalyla's attitude with her dad than with me. I am already the push over and he is the enforcer. Robert has been really busy and working hard at work. His project gives him quite a bit of responsibility. I am very proud of him. He manages to mow the lawn and keep up the yard these days too.

Dalyla has to have one of her soft blankies to sleep. She is now off of the bottle! She does still have milk in a sippie cup though to go to sleep. She went poop in the big girl potty chair the other day. I think it was just perfect timing. She was in the bath and laughing at farting of course. She thinks it's funny when she "toot, toots". So I took her out and put her on the potty and she did it. :) I hope it won't be too long before we are done with that big step. She is talking a lot more now. She tries to repeat things you say. It is so cute how she says Please. ha-ha. "pwease". The other day she said "see ya". She is trying to sing her ABC's now. She tries to count too. Pretty funny.

As for me, gosh. Im just the crazy mom/wife. Trying to make sure the house stays clean is my constant battle that I seem to lose more often than not. :) I was so happy after Robert helped me clean windows! Who knew that clean windows would make a woman so happy! LOL!
Work is busy. I have been going out of town more that I want. But, work I think keeps me busy. Although I think of a million other things that could keep me busy too, but I wouldn't get that sweet thing called CASH! Since I have to buy something it seems every week. :) I wish that I could be one of those super moms that always seem to have this super clean home, laundry always done, yard beautiful, crafty-home maker, and has a social life too. :) hmmm, don't know how they do it! I think I might hire someone to do that kind of stuff.

Getting excited for Disney. I can't wait to see Dalyla with the animals. Plus I think it will be fun to finally vacation with my family. Never have done that before!

Dalyla's one year birthday

Her birthday party was a success. A lot of family and friends came. She had so many presents but was more interested in the bows. She wouldn't nap at all during the day so she was quite tired by the time the cake came. She did eat her yummy carrot cake which was made by love from Mommy, Grandma J., and Aunt Haylee. The ranch celebration was fun too. The kids loved the pinata and cupcakes.

She just blows my mind every day. She does something new. She totally understands most of everything I say to her. She loves to play outside, in the water, mud, dirt, whatever. She got a sandbox for her birthday and she really likes it.
She knows how to wave bye bye, give kisses and hugs. She says, momma and dada. She tries to say other things but they mostly sound like dada. Her favorite cupboard to get into is of course the cleaning cupboard. She for some reason loves to play with the dish soap and febreeze bottle...

We took a trip to Portland to visit Todd. This was Dalyla's first airplane ride. She did so great the way there. She slept the entire flight. However, the return flight...hmmm, well let's just say a little less than sweet. :) She was "that" kid. :) Good thing the guy next to us had 3 daughters and one that was 18 months old. He understood I think...oh for about the first 15 minutes. haha. Finally about 2 minutes from landing, zonkers!

Visiting Todd was fun. We went to Mcminniman's and watched a live band and ate outside. Then we went to a winery and a waterfall. Sunday which was fathers day we went to Tillamook and the coast. Thanks Todd for being such a great host!

Tonight Robert was mowing the lawn and Dalyla just had to help. She is turning into quite the daddy's girl. He seriously had to hold her for a while while mowing. Or she would follow him around which made me nervous. Too funny!

Dalyla One Year

My baby girl is 1 yr next week! These pictures were taken at Murray Park. I have more to follow!

We have a walker and talker!

Dalyla is officially walking. She falls a lot but she is so daring. I guess i can't say officially..she only walks if she sees something in sight.

She is saying doggie, kitty cat, momma, and dada. She tries to repeat animal sounds, like for bear, we say "raaarrr", and she will say, "haaaaa". So cute! She hasn't figured out the snorting of a pig yet but she is trying.

Today we tried peanut butter. She liked it. She didn't like the bread, but she licked the pb off of it. She is so picky with breakfast that I can't find much for her to eat. So I tried eggs (which she usually likes) with ketchup. She loved the eggs! Ketchup it is!
She is crawling up the stairs. She hasn't figured out the down part so we are working on that. She really is a joy! She is always happy. Laughing and screaming every day!

The things she gets cranky at is getting dressed, changing her diaper, and cutting teeth. Got one more this week and one is pushing through!

Mommy's little helper

So, we decided to plant flowers.
Dalyla wanted to help. Actually, she last a while in her play pen, but I felt bad so I brought her out in the dirt....
I have to blame the following all on me.

Sorry Aunty Trishy, the outfit didn't survive but a day! I didn't have a chance in hell.
