Christmas 2008

Christmas was a good time! The weather was crazy, and driving in it was stressful but the outcome was worth it. Having breakfast with my mom and brother and sisters was great. Thanks for the biscuts and gravy..mmm good. Xmas eve was different this year because we were missing some family, but at the same time it was very enjoyable to be with the ones you love. My dad is a special person in my life and I love spending as much time with him as I can. Mom-J and Cal and fantastic. Even when times are tough they make the best Xmas ever. Thanks for the gifts and lasagna. mmmm good! Even though we never get to spend Xmas with Roberts dad it was nice to make the effort and visit him on Xmas day even if it was short.
And last but not least, visiting my Grandma was extra special. This is the first year without Gpa and he was really missed. Luckily dad and uncle scott pulled together to make the annual guitar sing. I think we need to do more of these. Gma just loves them and cherishes every minute. She looked beautiful as always.
Thank you to all of my friends and family for sharing this wonderful time of year with me.
We couldn't have asked for a better day! Little "Charli" even had a Christmas and she doesn't even know it yet!

To all my lady friends, Please get your mammograms. I just had a dear friend have a masectomy and another one diagnosed with breast cancer. She has to go in for a double masectomy next week. Prevention is the best cure. Don't put it off. Schedule one today!

It was a fantastic day! Beautiful weather, great company. Haylee and I were able to finally hang out. She is a beautiful girl. Aunt Fishy was there to pull up the rear. Really she was probably in better shape but I just seem to do better in the front. :) Thanks Aunt Fishy!

What is success?

–noun 1. the favorable or prosperous termination of attempts or endeavors.
2. the attainment of wealth, position, honors, or the like.
3. a successful performance or achievement: The play was an instant success.
4. a person or thing that is successful: She was a great success on the talk show.

I think the definition of success or being successful is:
Achieving the goals you have set for yourself as well as achieving the goals you have set with your partner/husband/family. I think success is a state of flow; Where you have found your happy medium no matter what else happens around you. I think within success you have good times and bad. My success is being happy and understanding that I am a beautiful and smart person regardless of the perception of others. I do not think there is one answer for success as it is different for everyone.

Thought of the Day

Communication-is the correct way to communicate to assume that we all speak in the 3rd party, or do we take communicating literal? For example, when someone says "you always just assume that life is that way".
"You" meaning, everyone in general or myself, not "you" as in whom you are speaking directly to.....

Yesterday was Robert's 33rd Birthday!
I made him some brownies and ice cream on Sunday and had Kent and Trav and Merri over to celebrate. Yesterday we went to dinner at Madelines and had an awesome Mud Pie..mmmmm, yummy!

8/8/08-woohoo!

So we had to run today for Crossfit a 15k. Robert finished in 1hr 30 mins. I didn't make it through the 15K but I did complete my 10k and shaved off 10mins.
It's hard to make it through the rest of the day...my legs want to seize up.
